Watch contracted airport workers take on the Monopoly Man in this series of videos that exposes how airlines cut services and wages, outsourced good jobs, and increased fees – all to squeeze more out of customers and workers while delivering less.
Watch the video here:
The Monopoly Man is known for photobombing congressional hearings to draw attention to corporate greed and misdeeds.
In the videos, Quintina Moore-Caraway, a ramp worker in Houston, explains the dangers of the job and the reality of being underpaid. While airlines plan to collect $5B in untaxed baggage fees in 2019, they are driving down wages for the very people who handle the baggage. Medina Adem, a wheelchair agent in Denver, explains how greedy airlines put the responsibility of paying workers’ wages onto elderly people and passengers with disabilities.
Workers are joining together across the country to stop the airlines’ race to the bottom. So far, we’ve won raises at 21 major U.S. airports, but airlines are still driving down pay and benefits in many cities. We won’t stop speaking out until we win Unions for All and balance the scale so all working people can thrive—white, Black, and brown, native-born and newcomer.
